The following events take place at the same time as the Season 1 Episode 1

[Linette Geraud]

The radio came on waking up Linette and instead of reaching out and pressing the button to shut the radio off, Linette instead stretched, yawned, and listened to the DJ.

"Good morning everyone, its a bright pleasant day in Rockville, Maryland. For all of you wanting to know, the sky is clear, it is slightly cool this morning, but its looking like things will be warmer later on. And in honor of this, Here is Jimmy Cliff, "I can see clearly now."

Linette was feeling pretty good, and she got up with the music, getting showered and dressed for the new day. It had been a rather busy day off, getting Patience set up and moved into the other room. It was a good change for Linette, and her family would be happy knowing that she wasn't alone in the apartment anymore.

The music changed to that of Styx, 'Come Sail Away', Linette cooked breakfast to the song, leaving food for Patience if she wanted any. If not Linette would eat it later. She placed a note "Got breakfast in the fridge if you want any."


After she ate Linette cleaned up the kitchen, and headed off to work. She hummed the tune of 'Come Sail Away' as she walked down the stairs. In the garage she greeted her crew and the day commenced. Sometime later in the morning, just as the radio finished playing Queen's 'Princes of the Universe'

Linette felt the ground beneath her feet shake. An earthquake? The last one she experianced was about three years ago.

"All right, everyone out of the garage now!" she shouted,the men were all ready moving out of the garage before she finished her sentence. As she stepped out of the garage, Linette noticed that the sky darkened above, and the power shut down on all of the equipment.

"I thought the dj said it was going to be a sunny day..." her words died away as Linette saw something she never thought she'd see before, it was a huge, no enormous space ship, she struggled to find the words to describe just how large the thing was.

"ET is visiting us?" one of her crew asked looking up at the space ship.

"I have no idea, I have no idea at all." was all that Linette had to say.

Then the broadcast from the alien ship, asking for forgiveness and wishing no one any harm. Linette was dumbfounded, there on the bottom of the ship was the image of a beautiful woman.. Her name was Anna.

Next to her was Scott, making a comment. "For an alien she is one hotlooking babe."

"Scott, I can't believe you." Linette said,

"No harm done, you're hot looking as well..." Scott said then blushed realizing what he just said.

Linette laughed, "Why thank you." She looked at her garage which was dark at the moment.

"All right boys until we know what else is going on, best we get everything turned off just to make certain we don't have a fire when hopefully the power come back on. Ray, go get the emergency generator and get some power going."

It seemed that the men couldn't tear their eyes away from the image nor the ship.

Linette's voice snapped out rather sharply,"Guys get a move on then you can go and check how things are at home, is that understood!"

Her voice brought them out of their confusion, wonder and fear and they quickly went about what she asked, then headed on towards their homes. Once they were gone, Linette just shook her head, what a day this was turning out to be.



(And so it begins)

Mac rolled over in his bed early and sat up placing his bare feet on the floor. But much to his surprise Hyde wasn't waiting at his feet. Scratching his head he tries to clear the fog from last nights over indulgence. Reaching behind him to shake the pup he finds warm soft naked flesh instead of coarse hard fur. Then a smile comes to his face and he says. "Oh yeah." Slowly he lays back down and slides over to the warm body in his bed for another go and whispers to himself. "I don't guess there is a need to run this morning."

An hour later and he is stepping into the shower, and half way through it, the young blond woman in her early twenties enters the bathroom, and Mac thinks to himself. "Yeah Dog, you still got it."

They are back in bed again when the power shuts off and the Earth starts to shake. Quickly they both dress, Mac grabs Hyde, and they rush outside to find the alien ship. As Anna speaks Mac gets a feeling of foreboding, and the young blond looks up in wonder. But very soon she says to Mac. "I had a great time, but I need to go. My parents are probably worried sick." Shocked, and somewhat worried Mac asks. "Your parents? How damn young are you?" As she is hurrying away she smiles and says. "Nineteen. Ill call ya in a few days."

As she vanished into the sea of people in the ever growing crowd Mac looks down at Hyde and frowns as he sees Hyde's eyes transfixed on the ship with bared teeth ears pinned back hackles raised and hears the quiet rumble of a warning growl. "What, you know something I don't?" Hyde doesn't even flinch at his master's words. He is in full protection mode right now though even the dog doesn't know why. He just doesn't like the odd objects hanging over head, something in his animal instincts tell him that he doesn't like them.

Patience awoke early. It was not yet light out so she got up, and very quietly dressed in her MCCUU and packed her rucksack with enough of her belongings to make it's weight appropriate for full pack running. Putting on her boots she slipped out of the apartment with the skill her Special Forces training had taught her.

After shaming her new friends by running them under while wearing full pack she had only ran with them in her shorts, tee and running shoes. But she knew their schedule and could run full pack and full distance when they were not there. She intended to do that today.

Patience had been running almost her full distance when she felt it, the ground had been vibrating but she had not noticed since she herself was jogging on it. But when her car alarm went off she stopped and felt it, looking around she looked up and saw...

Patience didn't remember drawing her pistol but she had to holster it when she got to the car, she also had to use the key to open the trunk but that was where it lay, and she was damn if she wasn't going to be a little heavier armed then a 9mm. The M16a1 with full mag and a round in the 40mm made her a little more at ease, her cell was dead, she could not call for instructions, her car was dead, she could not drive to DC or Indianapolis to report for duty. She was not sure what to do, then the woman's face appeared on the bottom of the ship and started talking.

"... we come in peace... always."

"Like hell!" Patience answered

Two hours after the arrival of the Visitors.

Linette headed into town to check how things were.The power had come back on and she took her motorcycle to see the state of things in town. Everything was in an uproar, there had been some damage from the alien ship passing over but it looked like things were none worse for the wear. People were worried, some praying others with signs of welcome, I knew you existed;I am a believer! Others; get thee hence behind me Satan! There were even the signs of the end is truly here; Armageddon is at hand.

Linette just shook her head, it was turning into a veritable three ring circus. She couldn't get to City Hall due to the crowd of people gathering there, wanting some answers. Over the public system the Mayor could be heard and him standing at a podium that was set up just for this purpose.

"Citizens, I do realize that we are facing some unusual circumstances at this time. Instead of going into a panic, it is strongly suggested that you all go to your homes and clear the streets, and go about your daily routine. I do understand that will be difficult, with the arrival of the 'Visitors'. I 'm certain there will be more information as to what is happening, and I suggest that we keep watch. Most important of all do not panic."

There were a flurry of questions, people wanting assurance, and the Mayor tried giving them words of comfort. Linette left the area and headed back towards home, her thoughts going back to her conversation with her friend, David Weiss. She had been trying to trace the origin of the blade he had shown her. So far she had hit a few stone walls no one seeing those types of blades before and no gangs were reported in having knives like that and she had been investigating into them.

Arriving at home, Linette went upstairs to pull out the blade, turning it over and over in her hands.Pursing her lips she examined it even closer. Placing the blade back inside its holder and putting it away, she picked up her cellphone and dialed up David, she left a message on the phone asking him to call her.



A phone call came, it was from Samuel.

"Linette, did you see the news about the alien ships? Is everything all right at home?" Sam asked.

"Everything is all right, the dogs and cat have been fed and are well taken care of same with the fish and plants. I'll be going back over to check on them very soon. They are probably going crazy at this time." Linette answered.

"Oh good, we'll be coming home at the end of this week, we're abit nervous at what's happened and well the wife is wanting to come home very soon." Sam's voice could be heard talking to someone off to the side.

Linette smiled when she heard her sister in law's comment. "I said I want to go home as soon as possible, like tomorrow since we can't come today."

"Well it looks like we're coming home sooner than expected. Can't say I blame her for wanting to cut the vacation short. I'm abit un-nerved as well." Sam said.

"All right I'll get things prepared for your arrival and I'm sure the animals will be very happy to see you. Give my love to everyone." Then Linette hung up.

Linette wondered where Patience was at the moment the visitors arrived and hoped that she was all right. Patience didn't need a nursemaid nor a babysitter but in truth, Linette just wanted to see how her new room mate was doing. Linette mentally snarled at herself. she felt she was being way to clingy. but it wasn't often that she called and this particular circumstances made Linette to where she wanted to check on her newfound friends. There was another one she wondered about, and that was Mika, she hadn't heard from him in a while and she worried about him too.

Linette left a message for both Patience and Mika asking them to give her a call, then she went over to her in law's place to get it fixed up and ready for their arrival home. she had alot of nervous energy and put it to good use, her family was going to come home to a clean house.

Once the power came back on, Mac and Hyde went back inside. Over the next half hour the burly old Marine paced back and forth in front of the door to the spare room. Hyde sat and watched his every move.

Finally he stepped foot into the spare room and looked at the walls covered in Marine Corps memorabilia. A shadow box with his ribbons and awards, an NCO sword, pictures, and finally the paddle he got at his retirement. Lastly his eyes settled on the large safe in the corner. After opening it he surveyed the assortment of rifles, pistols and shotguns, and reached in grabbing the M1A, his civilian version of the M14 he carried for so many years.

Giving it a quick function check he sighed and said to himself. "Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it."

Mac went back to pacing around his apartment after checking his gear, ammo, and weapons. "You're loosing it Mac." He said to himself.

After another ten minutes of pacing, and the initial shock wore off Mac decided to do what he does well, search for intel.

Setting behind his computer he uses the various search engines, and sifts through the usual crap. But something catches his eye, and he remembers the operation near the Syrian border.

"Why would they have been here in Syria and all these other places for so long if they just wanted to pay us a visit and go on about their business?"

Mac picks up his cell and searches for a number. "There ya are." He smiles, and presses the green button.

Patience had one of those moments that make a person realize just how much they are worth in society.

As soon as her phone worked she had called her old bosses, they referred her to her new bosses, she called them, they didn't have her paperwork, didn't need her, and frankly didn't care if she came in or not... ever. They didn't say it, but the attitude was there.

So there was nothing else for it, she drove back to Linette's, it would be home for at least two more weeks for her. The rucksack in the back seat and the M-16 in the passenger seat. She felt pretty damn low, all that training, all of her years of the Navy, and she was just an extra knob that no one needed right now.

She was feeling pretty bad when her phone rang, she looked at the caller ID and didn't know the number, maybe it was a special task force for the new Visitor problem and they were going to call her in... The pipedream lasted less then one ring, she knew it was no such thing. It would be a life insurance salesman trying to use this ship over their heads to sell insurance.

She keyed it on, "Hello."

Mac tapped his fingers against the computer desk as the phone rang, and when she answered he said. "Hey squid. It's Mac. We need to talk. Can you meet me at my apartment?"

[Lupe]

Patience went through the files of her brain, Mac... oh Mac, "yes sure. I will be there in just a little while, can I bring a friend?"

[J'Yan]

Mac nodded as if she could see him, and said. "Yeah, go ahead. Ill text ya my address. K?"
