To quote a certain pointy-eared character, "fascinating."

Writing in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the researchers describe an early proof-of-concept study on a chemical they call LJ001. The chemical attacks the structure of viruses themselves, and may potentially cure a wide swath of disease ranging from influenza to AIDS to Ebola.

From this Popular Science article right here (http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2010-02/lj001-acts-antibiotics-viruses).

Consider me skeptical, but hopeful.

Anything that attacks the coating of viruses will be very successful. The question is whether those chemicals will be effective to take care off the issues.

Hmmm... wonder if "LJ001" is somehow related to L-Lysene.

Quite possibly a variant on a certain trait within the drug.

Another thing that's now proven to destroy virueses (docs are now calling it the "Destroyer Vitamin) is Vitamin-D. There's been a link to the increased sunlight absorption and the fact that the Flu and Colds don't happen as much in the summer. We thought it was that the heat was hostile, but if you ever had a summer cold you know better.

Mega Doses of vitamin-d are helping everything from arthritic pain to chronic infections now.

Use full strength DAWN (must be Dawn) Dishwashing detergent. Rub it on (use rubber gloves) until it covers the entire rash then use water to wash it off... this will get a lot of the poison off of the surface of the skin.

Then apply apple cider vinegar several times a day to help draw out the poison. Keep covered with Calamine lotion in the interim.

This has worked for me when I get it. The main thing is to decontaminate the skin because that stuff gets in deep.

My Granny used to make a poultice out of oatmeal and baking soda... that helped too... but the dawn is the most practical treatment.

The irritation of poison ivy is an oil called Urishol... Dawn helps break it down and remove it.

Olive leaf extract has anti-viral properties, in addition to its many other beneficial properties.
