post them here.
Yes, we are going to do a monthly podcast, it will be fun and entertaining, won't guarantee any of the facts put out are always 100%. And I would never suggest you take the Harbor Master's statistics seriously. But for fun and to get to know each other, it is truly the best.
If you want to be in an upcoming podcast, tell us here, you will need Skype and at least an hour open (usually on a week-end but we can accommodate other schedule)
If you have a suggestion for things to talk about make them here, or pm or email them to me or Dorella.

Good song, in fact i think it fits well into the BoB theme. Very trek too...
your admin power is showing, you posted in a locked thread. ROFL
Lets have all the comments in this thread so the other one stays clean for easy finding of the current podcasts.

The podcast was a lot of fun. I'll join in anytime.
Listening now -- and would love to participate one day.

I have about 2 hours of 'after the podcast' recordings. anyone interested in an 'after the show' show? maybe about 30 minutes long?

I really loved hearing the podcast, am very happy you decided to do it. I wouldn't mind participating in the next one. It was a great delight hearing the voices of those I simm with and really made me smile.

The only part I didn't like was when Lupe made me get in the bottom of that barrel. :P
We need to figure out what the echo is caused by, though. I sound like THE VOICE OF GOD.
That was why I asked you to get in the barrel. ROFL
Let see, we have two volunteers already:
Lady Triflewith (Linette)
and
Roo
With Rob saying he would be on again anytime...
Any others?
We have our guests for next month.
Separ (Damian)
Lady Triflewith (Linette)
Some possible topics:
Intro of the Guests
News and Events from BoB
We need three more topics.
What about doing segments (regular features) along with the interviews? Maybe one for fun but others that provide useful information.
Good idea.
'The News and Events of BoB' could be a regular segment. Since we hope we have some kind of news and we hope events happen around here. :p
We could have a lighter one and call it 'On the Simm Side' all month long people could contribute bits of what is happening on their simm and it could be condensed into a little narrative like the news does. How would that sound?
We have our guests for next month.
Separ (Damian)
Lady Triflewith (Linette)
And what happened to Roo? Who was listed on the other thread? :-)
Roo is on the list for the next one after that. We are trying to have it one male guest one female guest, and would prefer to have a CO and player.
Linette was suppose to be on the first one but the schedule didn't work right and she could not make it.
Trust me, Roo, you will not be forgotten on this, I want to make sure you are on the hot seat for an hour too. :p
If Damian can't climb out of a truck long enough to do a show, would you be willing to be on standby?

I am going to be available until next Saturday on a rather generous basis (except mondays, they are rather manic for me schedule wise)
Long Hall

Wait? Are you telling me that it'll be... just another manic monday?

I still need to listen to the second and third podcast, I downloaded them but I have yet to listen. If you're looking for guests for a July podcast, I'd be more than happy to volunteer myself.
we were thinking of a hiatus for a couple of months (through the summer) but you are now on the list for the next podcast made.

You have an open accept from me. :) Work has quieted down too, so I'm available. You guys can feel free to use my Vent server for voice chat if you want. If your software will let you record from it.
I'm sure we have plenty of news from the past couple of months. What about a segment discussing the technical details of game mastering; story structure, getting players involved, subplots, recruiting, etc.?
Thinking about setting one up for the end of September, October 1 being the release date, only if it looks like some people are interested.
possible guests on list: (if they still want to)
Jordan
Sadie from Twilight Angel (LongHall's wife)
LongHall
Sorry LongHall, I tried my recorder on your Vent when we played last and it didn't see it, so we have to stick to Skype
We also need some topics to talk about, anyone have some?
Long Hall

Actually, I discovered that Vent has a built-in recorder. :P But whatever works. :)
So can you ask Sadie if she wants to be in the next podcast?

C'mon everyone, anyone, I know you can't be that shy about talking live. Anyone who is a member and or plays on a simm in BoB is welcome to volunteer for the podcast!!!!!
All you need is a microphone and Skype!
It is lot's of fun! Really. :)
Long Hall

I did. She said "But what would I have to talk about!?" and never actually answered me. shall I turn her over my knee?
It is really fun, all. :)
you just want an excuse to turn her over your knee don't you?
yes, it is fun, very fun.
Long Hall
08-31-2010, 09:37 AM
Well... yes, I'm always looking for that. lol
I'll talk to her about it again when she gets home. Maybe I can squeeze an answer out of her. :D
don't crack any of her ribs in the process. :p
Long Hall

I think she's too embarrassed to be in it. Sorry, I tried. :P
its ok. This time. ;)
The two guests for the next podcast are:
Jordan
Kaziarl
Now we need topics!
"topics, we don't need no stinking topics."
yes, we do, so help us out and suggest some.

What about some pointers to help out a simm.
Like what to do when:
- you get no new players
- the simm is slacking a bit
- the GM itself is swamped in RL
- a writer doesn't meet the required posting in a month/week
- a writer doesn't follow the simmrules
or other thinks like that.
How to keep a simm interesting for every person involved.
How to create subplots for characters that aren't involved in the mainplot.
How to draw characters to write that only write when they're tagged.
Which brings me to the three categories Lupe once mentioned to me - what about discussing those categories a bit? (Core group - taggers - random posters or something like that I think it was.)
Should a GM take advice/missionplots from his/her players or does he/she only use his own ideas.
Do you as GM give new players special treatment? Are they treated differently, do they get more guiding than the writers you already have.
What if someone wants to join a simm that has no writing experience at all. Do they get special help, more feedback, etc.
Discuss the different things a simm can use to get known on the web - advantages/disadvantages of forum, nova, website, sms and what else is out there.
O.o wow! Good job and  you remembered about the core, tag only, and random posters. :D I got that from Damian (Separ)
I think we have our topics now!!
*walking in high cotton* we got guests and topics, and news, now we just need to work on the simm GMs to get them to give us some simm news.

Hey, got an idea for your next one. How about a podcast on how to make a character. And I mean beyond the bare facts of most of the application bio's I tend to see.
Couple of main topics off the top of my mind:
Main/Minor/NPC: Pro's and Cons of each, and who they might fit best.
Character Growth: To fast? To slow? Where's the middle ground?
Personality: What to do if you're character is boring? (Kaziarl for example is a rather stoic individual, so I've tried to come up with ways to make him interesting but still stoic.)
What does your character do? How much research should you do on the characters job, culture, etc.
I know I'd be interested in hearing what people have to say about it.
