I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this, but I'm thinking about starting a Falling Skies RPG and was wanted to know if anyone would be interested in that?
I moved this thread to chat, it works better there since non-BoB GMs can post here, and they can't in the Help Wanted area.

Alright, Lupe, could you switch out the James Carr sub-board for a Falling Skies RPG?

I still haven't watched it, but the idea (as I said) is catchy.

OK, Lupe, I've come up with the name for my new RPG: The First Texas Irregulars. Go ahead and re-title my old board.
Anyone who would like to play, could you write up a basic character outline and PM it to me. I would like to do this game a little differently. Instead of me as the GM coming up with the story and y'all trying to integrate your characters into it, I want to know all the characters up front so I can write a more complete backstory.
Done, and you should have a spiffy new name bar too.

Yep, thanks that's cool!
I was trying to clear out the threads from my old game, but it only let me do a soft delete, can you clear them out completely? It just looks kinda messy. I'm going to be working on a banner add the list of games.

um.. no automatic weapons?
seems like a strange rule.. especially in relation to the picture you are using to advertise?
my neighbor has two AR15s, I believe with a few tools they could be made auto. Not that it's my business how you set up your simm. :p

I'm just trying to keep the game more realistic. It annoys me that every body seems to be spraying lead in the TV show. All military bases are supposed to have been destroyed in the initial attack. I'm a gun nut, so little inaccuracies like that bug me. I may loosen it up to limited full autos. There are very few people who own automatic weapons. It's like finding a Ford model T.
As far as the image I used in the ad, there are people who can fire a semi-auto almost as fast as a full auto.

AFAIK, you can only convert a rifle to auto if it can fire from an open bolt. The ATF banned those a while ago.
I am shrugging, I don't know anything about that part. But knowing them  ;)

For what it's worth, I know of several people that have full auto guns/ones that could be converted fairly easy. Granted they're WW2 Soviet weapons, but they'll still shoot.
I'm stuck with my bolt-action nagant at least for now.
Edit: After reading your ad, I have to agree on the expense part. Those submachine guns are quite expensive.
I think ammo would be the big part. you can't pop down to Bubba's gun world and pick up a couple of cases of .223 so you would have to watch what you shoot.

Hey Lupe, would you mind putting up this banner ad with the others?

Yeah, I know of a couple too. They're both loaded, excuse the pun lol.

My Soviet unit is like 10 guys with submachine guns and me with my single shot. lol
Out of curiousity, why Dallas? You from the area?
Also, does anyone know where I can watch episode 2? I missed it last Sunday.

No, I live in FL. I was a Troy Aikman fan when I was little though (that was back when he was good.)

try here (http://watchseries.eu/serie/falling_skies) (great place for all the series you may miss)
and i see your point about price, and definitely about ammo. In counter I would point out that you don't exactly have to pay to lift one from a gun store/ firing range/ museum/ police station/ battle site/ national guard barracks etc. I don't think anyone ever suggested that the weapons these people carried were once their own, merely that they had acquired them and now were using them

In the show they said that Military bases have been destroyed and gun shops are booby trapped by the Skitters. I'm pretty sure most museums deactivate any firearms that they display, and I'm not aware of any police departments that deploy automatic weapons. Could be wrong though.
hadn't been in Texas much have you? ROFL When the guns outnumber the people the law enforcement have to carry serious firepower. After all, any decent deer hunter has the potential of becoming a sniper.

No, just once when I was about seven. I knew the Dallas PD carried P90s but I thought they were the semi-auto version.

I don't watch television and so I had no idea what you were talking about until I checked out their website. Looks interesting. I might have to check out the show. :D

Yeah, for being a bible belt area Texans do like their guns. Kind of strikes me as funny.
I like your Banner Vince, it is pretty. :)

I own two guns, but one is a civil war era enfield and the other is a ww2 soviet nagant. High firepower for their times, but...
Of course, I'm a new "Texan". :p

Hey, cool, are you a civil war reenactor? I started that hobby a couple years back. Unfortunately, there are only two events close enough for me to go to and I missed both of them this year :(

I haven't done any Civil War reenacting since I've moved to Texas really, but I'll be going to the 150th of Wilson's Creek in August.
I've gotten into WW2 reenacting since moving to down here. Soviet Mechanized Infantry.
