Because he is a bad kitty.
Hi!
:new_monalisa:
I found this place doing a search for an old post of mine involving everybody's favorite kitty Aegis (otherwise known as Ressi on here) and found a lot of old friends milling about these parts.
I was Grenn in Bravo Fleet, and remember quite a few of you from DS7. Lessee..... Ressi and my character of K'ierran were married around there, and to be honest, her husband wants to know where she has been!
What else did I do... man, it's been forever. XO on DS7, Yolen'da Surridge, currently over in Bravo Fleet's Futility's End as Rissi (Ressi's daughter, who is about 50% as loopy as Ressi), CO of the Excelsior back so long ago that we used the earliest form of AOLIM as our messenger and had a geocities page, and so much more that I forget it all. Had a lot of time on the Shadow back and forth, but now I'm just over in FE and maybe even here.
So... hello!
I'm on YIM as starvoyager21 so add me if you never had me on there if you feel like it. I stopped using it forever, but have started to again.
Since stepping back from simming (albeit the Phoenix over in FE) I've been graduating college with a Master's, looking for work (work? what the heck is that? Stupid economy) and playing EVE Online mostly and being a terrible person on there that lives off making others suffer and stealing everything they have. (EVE's a sandbox MMORPG, so literally anything goes as long as you don't hack the game mechanics, so no Terms of Service violations here ;D)
But that was just a reflection of my anger and frustration at the inability to find non-retail work that a 6 year degree should provide in this day and age. I'm a much better person then that normally. ;)
:hippie:
Hi! yes of course I remember you, you were the sane cait of the group.
Sorry to hear about the non-retail work hunt, sometimes I think I should go back and get some kind of degree, then I look at my blue collar work and the lack of white collar shrug and think not.
You are more then welcome to sink roots in and stay here. We have quite a few different choices to play in, if you feel a desire to dip a toe back into the simming world.

Sane? Cait? Do those two words even belong in the same sentence?
Welcome, Grenn! I don't think we ever encountered each other in BF, but I'm also just as glad to be away from there. :)

Greetings! Pull up a keyboard and come enjoy the atmosphere here, jump in and play in the word games, or as Lupe said, take a look at the stories and see if you want to play in them. :)
As for Aegis... he's not a bad kitty just needs to have someone to give him direction. If that works but he's starting to learn. he has two adopted mamas, one knows this, the other one, she has no clue *laughs*

Oh good, I was thinking of trying out Starbase Haven but wanted to poke Aegis in the chest and confirm one or two things with him first. :blabla:
Thanks for the welcome :D

Hi, my names Valentine and I'm a Bravo Fleet survior too,
With the help and support of groups like this I've been clean now for a little over three years, and though the temptation is still there in the dark hours I know I am better off having kicked the habit.
I'd like to thank all the good people of the support group who have helped me through this trying time.... yadda yadda yadda.. :P
Welcome to the light side, watch out for the biters

I don't bite... much.
Bit one person and they mark you for life...
Well, we have a new member on Starbase Haven, an Operations Officer, don't bit her.

And I'm not giving him any candy!

Speaking of BF, and because I find this amusing and am curious if you guys ever got anything like that.
When I first started simming, it was with BF. The ship I was on, the William Wallace, eventually broke away from BF because we really got tired of most of the admiralty. It was far too strict and constraining in what we were allowed to do with our stories, so we left and reformed our group elsewhere and everything was fine for a while.
Until...
Some months later we all got emails from them, all very formal on official sounding. ORDERING us, to return for court martial. They even tried getting us blacklisted in other groups.
And I wish I was kidding about this, but I'm completely serious.
The email was like...
From: Office of the Admiralty, BravoFleet Command, Starfleet.
To: Captain and Crew of USS William Wallace
You are Hereby Ordered to return to BFC and relinquish posession of all BravoFleet equipment. You are to submit to court martial pending discharge from Starfleet on grounds of mutiny.
Anyway, you can imagine how the rest went I'm sure.

Could always forward that to Paramount... I'm sure they might have something to say about it. :)

Well, I got banned more times than I can count from the Relay station Bravo Fleet forum so many times I can't even remember. The social board so to speak. I was sooo bad, yup.:( That is what they said. WoW! :( But Lupe had the Rainmaker and was doing good and that is when the attack came towards me to get at Lupe I guess? I think they do take things way to serious. It is a game for goodness sakes.
I am still getting over that hurt. But now we are here.:)

I never had a problem with Bravo Fleet, but it's been about 4 years since I've had anything to do with it. I was there mainly from 2001 through 2007, being most active on DS7 which was... 2004?
So I can't harbor any grudges against them. After that, I got FlyingGremlin into Battlefield 2 and played with him a lot. He joined my gaming clan and we had a lot of non star trek related fun with that :)

... Wow... that is just... Wow.... My dealings with Bravo Fleet wern't all that bad. Heck, after a brief coversation with a certian Admiral Bremer I got Salvage Rights to an old BF ship I use in other RPG's now. :doglaugh:
U.S.S. Unicorn NCC-75589
I think the Website for that ship is still up lost in the vastness of the Internets.

Yes, and FG still remembers you. Speaking of which, it might be worthwhile for BoB to reach out to his new non-BF group as sister groups or some such. Just a thought.
it is an idea but some of their members and some of our members are oil and water... or is it nitroglycerin and Parkinson.

Unfortunately a lot of those who sensibly cut loose of the sump that is BF (no it hasn't changed despite what they would have you believe) then go on to make something equally vile in it's image.
Somewhere along the line their game became the poisonous rating-judging of others rather than the co-operative roleplaying writing hobby they started for.
um... being this is an introduction thread. Maybe we should return to the intro subject.
We would not want people to feel we are a bit... bitter towards other simming groups. It might give them the wrong impression.

I have a question. Well not me but Trusia *coughs*.
My dear Prudence, seeing you have no problems with Catians serving on the Starbase, why do you have such objections against tribbles? They are equally furry and nice and cute and playfull and fun, are they not?
---
Trusia Renard
My dear Trusia,
Catians are called sentient, they think for themselves supposedly. And they don't breed in wholesale.

And seeing Trusia performs lengths of conversations with them Tribbles, I'd say they're sentient.
See, tribbles should be allowed too. :tongue1:

That is a flawed argument, King George III talked to trees and was sure they talked back to him... ROFL

Thank you and the Catians too of course.

Welcome Lt.Cmdr Grenn, I look forward to serving with you at Starbase Haven. It is always a pleasure to serve one that has experience. If your sense of humor is anything like Ressi, Then i am sure we should get along well together. LOL
I welcome you to our online family and look forward to getting to know you.

Oh, it is... it is dangerously close... we tend to think along the same lines.
The current character might not reflect that, but it's the way she was written ;)
